Brigadier General Sergii Baranov

Brigadier General Sergii Baranov is the head of the Missile Programs Office within the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. An artillery officer by profession, he has held command roles at all levels, commanding the 44th Separate Artillery Brigade during the Anti-Terror Operation that followed the invasion of Donbas and Crimea, before being appointed to a planning role within the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the 2022 russian main invasion. Prior to his current appointment within the Ministry of Defence, Brigadier General Baranov was Deputy Commander of the 10th Army Corps, having previously commanded the Missile Forces of the AFU. He has a wealth of combat experience on the modern battlefield, in both artillery operations and integrated air defence.
