Brigadier General Miroslav Hofírek

Deputy Commander Czech Land Forces

Brigadier General Miroslav Hofírek is the Deputy Commander of the Czech Land Forces since March 2026. He graduated from the Military University of Land Forces in Vyškov and later earned a Master's degree from the U.S. Joint Advanced Warfighting School. Most of his military career has been linked to the Czech Special Forces, where he served in numerous command and staff positions. He was appointed Director of the Special Forces Directorate in 2023 and promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in October 2023. He has extensive operational experience from Afghanistan, serving in several deployments under Operation Enduring Freedom and ISAF. General Hofírek has received numerous Czech and NATO military awards for his service and leadership. He is fluent in English and is recognized for his expertise in special operations and military leadership.
