Lieutenant Colonel Andris Brūveris

Commissioned in 2008, he has served in a wide range of command and staff appointments, including Anti-Tank Platoon Commander, Company Commander, Battalion Operations Officer (S3), instructor at the Latvian National Defence Academy, Battalion Executive Officer, and Battalion Commander. He has operational deployment experience in Afghanistan as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and in Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.(OIR) Lieutenant Colonel Bruveris holds a Master's degree from the Latvian National Defence Academy and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies. His professional military education includes the U.S. Army Maneuver Captain Career Course (Fort Benning, USA), the Vytautas the Great Army Command and Staff Course (Lithuania), and the Baltic Defence College Joint Command and General Staff Course (Estonia). Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in NATO exercises, multinational capability development, and international cooperation, with a particular focus on mechanized manoeuvre warfare, anti-armour capability development, mission command, and the integration of unmanned aerial and ground systems into combined arms operations. Following the successful integration and operational employment of unmanned ground systems during Exercise Crystal Arrow 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Bruveris was invited by NATO Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) to present Latvia's operational experience and lessons identified at the Conference of European Armies 2026.
