Retired General Turkish Armed Forces

Lieutenant General (Ret'd) Türkgenci served in the armed forces for more than 40 years, culminating in his appointment as Commander of the 3rd Field Army prior to retirement. Throughout his distinguished military career, he held a range of national and multinational appointments, including senior positions within the Western European Union (WEU) and NATO. He holds a PhD in Security Strategies and Management, as well as an MSc in Weapon Systems Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in the United States. He is the author of several books, including Digital Knights: A New Era for Land Warfare, Unmanned Ground Vehicle Design, and Design and Management of Security Strategies in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. In addition, he has published more than 20 articles in national and international publications. His expertise spans security strategy development, defence planning, defence reviews, capability development, and defence industry strategy. He has been actively engaged in applying artificial intelligence to defence projects and the development of unmanned ground and aerial systems. He has also served as a consultant to the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), providing expertise in defence planning and strategy formulation. Alongside his extensive operational and combat experience, he gained valuable first-hand insight into the contemporary battlefield in Ukraine through his work in a NATO role, further strengthening his understanding of modern warfare and emerging defence challenges.
