Norway’s defence budget is to rise by 4 per cent in 2010 to NOK34.9 billion (US$6.2 billion), with funding for new equipment and peacekeeping operations key priorities. The long-term plan for 2009-12 was announced in March 2008 with funding for the armed forces increasing by NOK800 million.
