Uruguay working on tender for new OPV requirements
Uruguay is looking at the option of leasing offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) under a tender that French company DCNS is exploring.
"The [Uruguay] Finance Ministry has asked for a leasing," an executive from a French bank told Defense News.
"Talks with ministry officials are due to be held in Uruguay next week. The campaign is well underway."
Requirements are yet to be clarified with Germany’s Fassmer, France's Ocea and the UK’s BAE Systems thought to be interested in bidding...
