The U.S. Navy's priorities for its maritime patrol aviation forces are well defined but not easy to bottle. To be able to respond and cover down on anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance missions, as well as being one of the first responders in any type of search and rescue or humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions, the scope is huge. As such, the U.S. Navy is now transitioning to the P-8A Poseidon.
