Bharat Forge, part of Indian conglomerate the Kalyani Group, has acquired Ruag’s gun manufacturing facility and plans to establish a joint venture with Israel’s Elbit Systems.
The new venue, called BF Elbit Advanced, will establish Bharat as a major player in the Indian artillery market. As part of a wider strategy to take on the Indian defence sector, BF Elbit Advanced will develop and manufacture a range of defence systems, including mortar gun systems and ammunition.
