Conference Day One - 10 July
Wednesday, July 10th, 2019
As the number of drone incidents at airports multiply causing expensive shutdowns and reputational damage, there are many questions to be answered: Whose problem is it? What is the cost? Who pays the bill? How to address this problem? What works and what doesn’t? Soft approaches like public education and licensing drone pilots will only go so far and won’t stop a malfunctioning drone or someone with malign intent. We will speak to a panel of experts to better understand the unique challenges that airports face, not least due to the sheer size of airspace that needs to be monitored for rogue drones, in addition to tracking aircraft and their movements and keeping the skies and the airports safe.
