Topics announced for inaugural border protection event in Dubai

14 August 2012 | Dubai: Today H.E. Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri Director General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai announced the topics and speaker line-up for the inaugural Smart Border Technology Forum to members of the regional press. Held under the Patronage of His Royal Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the forum will host over one hundred and fifty regional and global border protection and management experts.

This international forum and exhibition is dedicated to helping border protection authorities and agencies to source fit-for-purpose border security solutions and software, integrate technologies and systems effectively with existing networks and remain vigilant against emerging security threats and breaches.

Topics for this year’s summit include: combatting terrorism and enhancing national security, discussing the launch of new E-passport technology for UAE, highlighting the latest technologies to effectively protect and manage land, air and sea borders, managing, monitoring and tracking movement of people through effective implementation of technologies, security, CCTV, control room and detection, resolving the immigration challenges and sea port security risks, detecting trafficking operations and cross-border crime and applying best-practice international strategies in order to facilitate transit services at land, sea and air borders.

Developed in partnership with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai and IQPC Middle East, Smart Border Technology Forum will take place on Monday 24th September 2012 at Al Bustan Rotana, Dubai.

It will serve as a platform for highlighting our achievements and initiatives for border control, security and management. The event will feature experts on border security from around the world," said H.E. Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri.
