Italian Army Reveals Strategy for Streamlining Armoured Vehicle Procurement
Enhancing survivability is a big issue, especially in the face of defence budget cuts. This is especially the case for Italian forces currently. Lt General Gucciardino is General Manager of the Procurement Agency for Land Systems within the Italian Army and, in this interview, he describes how needs are dictating development of the next generation of armoured vehicles. The move is on to supply commanders with their key requirements for operations in the field. Afghanistan is a prime case study, especially in terms of incorporating lessons learned - one key aspect of which will be to streamline the existing procurement process.
