Various publications on questions of operational level warfare, military strategy and force planning. Author of the book „Moderne Seemacht” (Modern Seapower). Frequent lectures at the National Defence Academy on Military Strategy and Naval Warfare. Member of the Scientific Advisory Commission to the Ministry of Defence. Lieutnant General Hofbauer lives near Vienna with his wife Susie and his son.
