Lieutenant General Satoru Ohashi

Director General of Ground Systems ATLA - Japan MOD

Lieutenant General Ohashi joined the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in 1991, starting his career in air defense artillery. After completing a Ph.D. in materials engineering, he worked on guided‑weapon development at the Technical Research and Development Institute. He commanded the 9th Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion, the 4th Antiaircraft Artillery Group, and in 2023 the 2nd Antiaircraft Artillery Brigade. He also served as Professor at the National Defense Academy, focusing on leadership and military history. Since 2024, as Director General for Ground Systems at the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA), he oversees research and development of ground systems.
