Air Commodore Mike Jenkins, ACOS A3/A5 Air Command, Royal Air Force gave a Keynote Address: The Royal Air Force and Small Precision Weapons.

He believes that security and defence are now interlocked. Of the weapons available to ISAF, JDAM was the weapon of choice. He noted that different fusing options are useful. The ‘Cone of Life’ principal for weapon effect means that the blast from a weapon may not necessarily be lethal in all directions. However, glide bombs such as SDB are no use for CAS because of their long time of flight.
