BrigGen Robert Wilhelm started his career 1986 in the German Air Force. After earning a university degree in electronics he served as platoon and company commander in an air surveillance coy before he attended the German General Staff Course 1998-2000 followed by the UK Advanced Command & Staff Course 2000-2001. Appointments in Higher Head Quarters and within the German MOD followed. Inter Alia he worked in the Plans&Policy Branch for the Joint Support Service and served as spokesperson for procurement within the MOD. He was appointed as MA to COM Joint Warfare centre where he worked for Air Marshall Walker and LtGen Korte. On his return to Germany, BrigGen Wilhelm served as Division Head J4 in the German Response Force Operations Command and from this position deployed to Afghanistan as Commander of a Multinational Advisory Group in 2013. After a tour as DCOM Logistic Regiment 47, BrigGen Wilhelm was selected to participate in the 2015 Course of the Royal College of Defence Studies in London. On his return, he became Head Plans&Policy of the Bundeswehr Logistic Command, served as Branch Head Material Readiness in the German MOD and in 2019 took his current position as DCOM of the Bundeswehr Logistic Command, where he was promoted to Brigadier General.
