Dr Martyn Fletcher

Principal Scientist DSTL - UK MoD

After receiving his PhD in Artificial Intelligence in 1997 from Keele University, Dr Fletcher was a post-doc researcher at the universities of Calgary, Cambridge and Prague. Subsequently, he was a software developer at a small Cambridge-based company building AI and autonomous systems for manufacturing and defence applications. Since joining Dstl 17 years ago, he has worked on Operational Analysis tasks for the Type 45 destroyers and Astute submarines, developed cyber Situational Awareness tools and been a technical partner for various companies and universities building novel AI and autonomous solutions for the UK Ministry of Defence. Martyn is now the Subject Matter Expert on the Global Combat Air Programme in the topic of Crewed-Uncrewed Teaming.
