Lieutenant-Commander John Faurbo is the Royal Canadian Navy's Science and Technology Officer, helping the organization convert emerging technologies into applied capabilities. His work focuses on connecting advances in areas such as quantum sensing and autonomous systems with future naval needs, while improving awareness of the state of the art and what is technically possible. A Naval Combat Systems Engineer, he has served at sea and in positions spanning naval materiel technical training, technology management, occupational analysis, and major procurement and capital projects. Throughout his career, he has championed innovation and experimentation to translate new ideas into credible options for the Royal Canadian Navy.
