Chris Shepherd is the EMEA Sales Director at Advanced Navigation, leading the modernisation of tactical Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) and autonomous platforms. With over 30 years of maritime defence experience across the Royal Navy and industry leaders like Saab UK and Cobham, Chris bridges operational military requirements with cutting-edge technological solutions.

During his 20-year naval career serving on Frigates and Destroyers, he specialised in electronic warfare and operational readiness, holding key roles at FOST and the Electronic Warfare Training Establishment. In the private sector, he successfully delivered major defence initiatives, including Saab's Giraffe 1X radar program into the Royal Navy and advanced ROVs for mine-hunting frameworks.

Chris's core expertise spans maritime autonomy, sensor integration, and electronic protection, with a primary focus on maintaining operational resilience in GNSS-contested environments. He continues to drive defence program leadership, helping military and industry partners deploy resilient navigation and next-generation uncrewed surface capabilities.
