UPDATE: ISAF confirms Haqqani foreign fighter facilitator captured

KABUL, Afghanistan (Dec. 1) – The International Security Assistance Force confirmed the capture of a Haqqani Network facilitator during an operation in Khost province Nov. 28.
The facilitator transported foreign fighters into the mountains of Musa Khel district to conduct attacks against Afghan and coalition forces. He is also assessed to be the previous district senior leader for Qalandar.
Intelligence reports led the security force to a compound north of Guldar in Sabari district to search for the facilitator. Afghan forces used a loudspeaker to call for all occupants to exit the compound peacefully before the joint security force cleared and secured the buildings. The security force detained the facilitator along with several of his associates after initial questioning at the scene.
The security force ensured the safety of the women and children throughout the operation, which was conducted without shots fired.
