US Army to Use 'Apps' for Android Combat Devices

The US Army is currently undergoing a final series of tests in order to allow its soldiers to use interoperable mobile apps on Android devices in forward operations.
The software, which is currently being tested through the 82nd Airborne Division on a prototype device, is currently known as the Joint Battle Command-Platform, or JBC-P Handheld and will allow troops to view information at ‘the touch of a screen’.
