Turkey unveils its first real assault rifle

Turkey officially has its first fully home-grown military rifle and submachine gun thanks to the efforts of Turkish manufacturer Sarsilmaz Fire Arms Industry.
The company, which exports its products to 72 countries worldwide and is the only private corporation in the country permitted to manufacture small arms, hosted an unveiling this month to showcase the SAR 223 5.56mm light assault rifle and the SAR 109 / TE54 submachine gun.
