Opinion: Fighting Through Tripoli
After months of stalemate and slow advances and retreats, the NTC offensive in August has successfully advanced and cut Tripoli off from its supplies. In a reversal of fates, it is now Tripoli, rather than the NTC capital of Benghazi, that is under a de-facto siege. Surrounded by NTC forces on land and blockaded by NATO at sea, the civil war in Libya is looking like it is entering its final stage. The end stage, however, may yet be the bloodiest to date.
