Qatar gets massive armoured vehicle order in ahead of 2022 World Cup
Ahead of the World Cup in 2022, Qatar is set to procure 118 Leopard armoured vehicles from Germany along with 16 tank howitzers for an undisclosed sum.
According to German daily Bild am Sonntag, the deal is in addition to the 62 Leopard tanks and 24 howitzers Chancellor Angela Merkel's government agreed to supply in the spring.
The armoured vehicles will be manufactured by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall.
