AmSafe Bridport, providers of engineered textile solutions, announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with NIMR Automotive LLC, an Abu Dhabi-based vehicle manufacturer, to offer its Tarian RPG Armour System as an option on NIMR’s range of military vehicles. The deal will enable the Tarian brand to be marketed to territories where NIMR has a strong presence, notably in the Middle East.

Tarian is a well-established brand in the UK market having being developed in response to requirements from military users for a lightweight, higher performance and more robust alternative to traditional, heavy, metal bar or slat armour RPG protection systems. The system exploits an ultra strong textile net manufactured from high-tenacity fibres. Tarian nets are attached to vehicles using innovative flexible mounts that enable the system to withstand harsh vehicle operating conditions without sustaining damage.

NIMR CEO, Dr Fahad Saif Harhara said, "We are delighted to announce NIMR’s cooperation with AMSAFE through incorporation of the Tarian RPG net amongst the list of optional systems available on our tactical platforms. We are constantly striving to optimise vehicle survivability through enhanced protection capability, thereby preserving the safety of the crew."

The company also announced its Tarian armour system would be exhibited on the JCB High Mobility Engineer Excavator (HMEE) at DSEI and offered across JCB’s range of military and government vehicle range. The partnership will "create an integrated RPG protection system" for JCB’s vehicles, according to Richard Betts, AmSafe Sales & Marketing Director.

Completing a busy show for the company, it also announced a co-operation agreement with IBD Deisenroth for the development of advanced integrated vehicle survivability solutions, utilising AmSafe’s Tarian RPG Armour System and IBD’s PROTech Suite.
