80 years ago as civilisation faced one of its gravest threats, Winston Churchill wrote a memo on brevity.
As I take over editorial control of the Defence iQ website I hope to follow in the spirit of this memo. No doubt I will have to reread it at various points in the future to bring me back to my senses. I aim to be committed to plain English, to brevity over gilded phrases, as far as is possible in the world of defence jargon. In short, I hope to get to the point clearly and without burdening the reader's time.
My predecessor Hannah Croft has done so much to create a community both of readers and contributors. I hope I can live up to her vision, ensure Defence iQ continues to be a fantastic resource, and not let the community down!
