US defence budget foreshadows "gutting of the armed forces," multiple programmes cut

The US fiscal 2015 defence budget revealed Tuesday requests $495.6 billion, $400 million less than the enacted FY 2014 appropriation. In the years from FY 2016 to FY 2019, the Department of Defence is asking for funding that exceeds the current budget caps by a total of approximately $115 billion in order to meet defence requirements. The budget was released in conjunction with the 2014 Quadrennial Defence Review (QDR) What does all this mean in reality? That there will be some major cuts...
