In an effort to modernise its ground-based air defence capability, the Royal Thai Army (RTA) has awarded Germany’s Rheinmetall Defence a contract for the acquisition of four Rheinmetall Air Defence Oerlikon Skyguard 3 stationary fire control units and eight Rheinmetall Air Defence Oerlikon GDF007 stationary anti-aircraft gun systems.
