Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel resigned yesterday amid mounting pressure from the White House after disagreements about the direction of US foreign policy.
Although he officially tendered his resignation, there remain questions about whether he jumped or was pushed. A White House insider claimed the Vietnam veteran, 68, "wasn’t up to the job", according to The Times.
