Ahead of the 11th annual London conference for global military forces, Defence IQ heralds an opportunity for industry, personnel and programme managers to learn and analyse recent progress in the field with an exclusive new resource centre available online.

Recent additions to the library include several one-on-one podcast interviews with some of the world’s most active and experienced helicopter commanders, all of whom will be presenting at the conference this coming year. These podcasts include a wide range of focus areas from various nations, including:
Attack– Lieutenant Colonel Paul Tennant, Commanding Officer of 3 Regt British Army Air Corps, provides an overview of the successful use of UK Apache helicopters in Afghanistan and Libya, as well as the probable direction of attack craft in future campaigns;
Defensive escort– Colonel Christian Drouin, Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s 1 Wing, discusses operational experiences in Afghanistan as his fleet protect allied forces, compromising on capabilities under limited resources, current capability gaps, and how the demands of conflict forced his Wing to be inventive;
Afghan lessons– Air Commodore Theo Ten Haaf, Commander of the Royal Netherlands Defence Helicopter Command, provides background to the recent lessons learned in Afghanistan with the NH-90, including dealing with the dry and dusty climate, training while fighting, and improving battlefield identification.
