U.K. Chinook and Puma Modernisation Contracts Signed

The U.K. MoD has signed deals worth a total of over £700 Million ($1.1 Billion) for the modernisation of the RAF Chinook and Puma support helicopter fleets. 46 Chinook HC2/2A/3s will be fitted with new engines and a glass cockpit, which will enable the aircraft to remain in service until 2040.
Meanwhile, at least 28 Puma HC1s will also be fitted with new engines and improved cockpit avionics. This should keep the Pumas in service until 2025.
