Turkey Hopes for Quick US Approval of UAV Sale

Turkey expects the U.S. government to agree before year’s end to sell it the armed MQ-9 Reaper UAV. The Turkish military has been impressed by the Reaper’s performance, and in February Ankara formally asked to buy the system. Turkey wants to buy two systems (four platforms) of the MQ-9, and one system (two platforms) of the MQ-1B.
