New Spanish UAV Under Development

Construction has begun of a new, larger version of the Spanish National Institute for Aerospace Technology’s SIVA (Sistema Integrado de Vigilancia Aerea) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Flight trials are scheduled to begin before the end of 2009. The new UAV, known as Milano, is 8.2 m long and has a wingspan of 12.5m, which can lift the 900 kg aircraft up to a planned ceiling of 23,000 ft.
