Czech company LOM expects to secure a series of contracts from NATO and the EU for the modernisation of up to 60 Russian-built Mil Mi-8/17 medium transport helicopters. LOM recently completed the modernisation to NATO standard of three ACR Mil Mi-171sh medium transport helicopters which are scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan later this year.
