Apache Controlled UAV to be Tested

Add bookmark
A UAV and its sensor, remotely controlled from a U.S. Army Apache Helicopter, will be tested for the first time in November. During the test, a Block III Apache will exert ‘level 4 control’ over an unmanned AH-6 Little Bird Helicopter. This means that the crew of the Apache will have control of both the UAV and its sensor. Apaches operating in Iraq use VUIT-2 technology, which allows the Apache crew to see streaming videos from UAVs, known as "level 2."
