Aug. 28--VALPARAISO -- The city's oldest fire station is showing its age. A leaky roof and sagging beams are just two of the problems the city hopes to fix with the help of a federal stimulus grant for building new or remodeling old stations. The city's Board of Public Works and Safety approved a contract Thursday with Chester Inc. to complete the design of repairs and remodeling of the downtown station to help the project qualify for the grant.
