North Korea has warned that it will attack both South Korea and the United States if provoked during the two countries' joint military drills set for February 28.
The North routinely threatens military action, but this latest warning -- in which the North vowed that any provocation would lead to "all-out war" -- comes just weeks after talks failed between the two Koreas.
Tensions have been on the rise in East Asia since last year's deadly sinking of a South Korean naval ship.
The isolationist North has denied the South's charges that it was involved in the incident.
The upcoming U.S.-South Korean drills, meanwhile, are meant to prepare for any possible emergency on the Korean Peninsula.
