The Weekly Recap After a long and exhausting rhetoric-filled week in the news, columnist Jonathan Dowdall and Senior Editor Robert Densmore try their best to pick up the pieces. Neither were sure whether the war of words waged by William Hague would actually bury European Union ambitions to create the very first EU headquarters. It certainly seems the UK is standing firmly against it, regardless of what the rest of Europe thinks. The one-liners were geography-blind this week and our own Senior Editor makes a shaky segue to the US-Pakistan debacle. Aid? Slashed. Equipment? Refused. Scandal? You bet. It's a complicated story, but rest assured that, following the super secret raid 'heard round the world', tempers between Musharraf and Obama are rising faster than Greek debt.
