The 2014 budget for US Cyber Command has more than doubled to $447 million in the spending package that was agreed Monday. The rise was attributed to the increased demand for cyber capabilities including personnel where the goal is to grow the cyber force by 2,000 for the next three years.

USCYBERCOM, headed by f General Keith Alexander, centralises command of cyberspace operations, organises existing cyber resources and synchronises the defence of US military networks.

House lawmakers also approved a hike in cybersecurity sending for the Homeland Security Department, which now has a fiscal 2014 budget of $792 million.
