The Italian Navy added an extra ship to its contract for Multipurpose Offshore Patrol Ships from Italian industry, taking its order to seven. The consortium of Fincantieri and Finmeccanica received the extra order from European contracting agency OCCAR (Organisation Conjointe de Cooperation sur l’Armement, the international organization for cooperation on arms).
