U.S. Navy to Operate UCAVS in Anti-Piracy Role

The U.S. Navy anti-piracy force in the Indian Ocean is to be reinforced by a detachment of MQ-9 Reaper Uninhabited Combat Air Vehicles. These aircraft will be based in the Seychelles. This is the first public acknowledgement that the U.S. Navy operates the MQ-9, previously, only the USAF, RAF and CIA were known to be users.
