Lieutenant General Michel Van Strythem
Chief Innovation Defence Belgian Defence HQLieutenant-General Michel Van Strythem has a Master of Science in Engineering in Telecommunications from the Royal Military Academy, Brussels, with extensive experience in UAV integration, doctrine, governance, and strategic planning. He led the introduction of the B-HUNTER UAV, commanded the 80th UAV Squadron, contributed to major defence legislation and strategic visions, and later served as Cyber Commander. Appointed Lieutenant-General in 2025, he now serves as Chief Innovation Defense and Chief Task Force Drones, advising on military robotics and countermeasures.
