Brigadier General Riivo Valge

Commander Estonian Air Force

BG Riivo Valge took over the command of the Estonian Air Force from 18 June 2025. Born in Estonia, Võru, on 24th of September 1975. After high school he earned his BA at the Army Infantry Cadre of the Estonian National Defence Academy. After commissioning as a second lieutenant in 1998, he joined the Air Force, was trained as an Air Surveillance Officer and completed several qualification courses in Finland, Denmark and Norway. Throughout his career BG Valge has contributed to numerous capability development projects of the Estonian Air Force, many in cooperation with other Agencies. He has completed several duty tours at Air Surveillance Wing, Air Base, Air Force Staff and Estonian Military Academy. NATO tour from 2008 to 2012 included service as Branch Head A5 / Strategy at AIlied Air Command Ramstein, Germany.
