Oliver Brieger

Oliver Brieger has served as Head of Chief Engineering for Fighter Aircraft at Airbus Defence & Space since 2019, holding technical authority for the Eurofighter, the Next Generation Fighter Demonstrator, and Remote Carrier programmes within the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). An aerospace engineer and flight test specialist, he previously led flight operations, airworthiness, and research aircraft activities at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), overseeing a fleet of highly modified fixed- and rotary-wing test aircraft supporting national and international R&D programmes. Earlier, he headed DLR's Flight Test Detachment at Germany's Armed Forces Flight Test Center, supporting the multinational Eurofighter test and certification programme. Brieger began his career on the German-American X-31 VECTOR experimental aircraft programme. He has also served as a university lecturer, NATO flight test expert, and industry committee member, authoring numerous technical publications and receiving several international awards for excellence in flight testing.
