Brigadier General Tomasz Jatczak began his adventure with aviation in 1988 by entering the Aviation High School in Zielona Góra, after which he became a cadet at the Polish Air Force Academy in Dęblin. In 1996 he was promoted to the rank of second lieutenant in the Air Force Personnel Corps. He began his service in the 9th Fighter Aviation Regiment in Zegrze Pomorskie, where he began training on the MiG-21 bis aircraft, and then continued his training on MiG-21 aircraft at the 10th Fighter Aviation Regiment in Łask, until this type of aircraft was withdrawn from service in the Air Force in 2003. In 2003, he was transferred to the 1st Tactical Air Squadron in Mińsk Mazowiecki, where he began training on MiG-29 aircraft. In 2006, he completed supplementary master's studies in the field of Aviation at the National Defense University, and in 2009 he completed postgraduate studies in Aviation Management. In 2010, he was qualified to the first group of pilots trained in Poland for the F-16 aircraft. He completed the basic course on this aircraft in 2012, and since 2013 he has been the commander of the air operations group in the 32nd TAB in Łask. In 2016, he commanded the first shift of the Polish Military Contingent as part of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE in Kuwait. In March 2017, he was sent to postgraduate studies in Defense Policy at the Air Force War Academy in Maxwell, USA. He is an instructor and test pilot on the MiG-29 aircraft. He spent 2440 hours in the air pilot m.in ing TS-11, MiG-21, MiG-29 and F-16 aircraft (over 1330 hours). From 2018 to 2021, he was the Commander of the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Łask. On July 5, 2021, he was appointed Deputy Commander of the 2nd Tactical Air Wing. On February 1, 2022, he was appointed Commander of the 2nd Tactical Air Wing. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general on November 10, 2022. In March 2025, he was appointed Chief of the Aviation Directorate - Deputy Inspector of the Polish Air Force. • On October 20, 2025 BG Tomasz Jatczak was appointed Inspector of the Polish Air Force, General Command of the Polish Armed Forces, Warsaw, Poland
