Colonel Daniel Wynn

Commander, 85th Fighter Group US Air Force

Colonel Dan Wynn is commander, 85th Fighter Group at Ebbing Field, AR. He leads a group of 205 active duty, civilians, and contractors tasked to provide F-35 training for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) nations including Poland, Finland, Germany, Singapore, Switzerland, Greece, Czech Republic, and Romania. He is an F-35A instructor pilot and USPACOM China Foreign Area Officer. Colonel Wynn entered the Air Force as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He is also a graduate of the University of Maryland University College with a Master of Science degree in Information System Management. As an Olmsted Scholar he spent two years studying Ancient Chinese History in a master's degree program at Guangxi Normal University, Guilin, China. Colonel Wynn earned his wings from Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin AFB, TX and has served in a variety of positions at the squadron, wing, and combatant command level including Director of Operations (354 OSS), Inspector General (354 FW), Squadron Commander (354 RANS), and Division Chief (USINDOPACOM J32). He has deployed to the CENTCOM AOR and INDOPACOM AOR. Colonel Wynn is a combat-experienced Command Pilot with more than 2,000 flight hours in the F-35A, F-16C/D, T-38C and T-6.
