Colonel Tomasz Jatczak

Deputy Commander, 2nd Tactical Aviation Wing Polish Air Force

Colonel pilot Tomasz JATCZAK was born in 1973 . After graduating he began studying as a cadet in the Air Force Officers’ School in Dęblin. After receiving his commission in 1996 he started military service in the 9th Fighter Regiment where he was trained on flying MIG-21 aircraft. He continued his training in the 10th Fighter Regiment in Łask on MIG-21 aircraft until it was retired from the Air Force in 2003. In the same year he was transferred to the 1st Tactical Aviation Squadron in Mińsk Mazowiecki where he began his training on the MIG-29 aircraft. Colonel Jatczak was qualified for the first group of pilots trained in Poland on multi-role F-16 aircraft and accomplished the basic training in 2012. In 2016 he commanded the 1st rotation of Polish Military Contingent in Operation Inherent Resolve in Kuwait.

He was transferred in March 2017 to attend postgraduate studies in the area of Defense Policy at the US Air Force War Academy in Maxwell AFB, Alabama (USA). He has an instructor’s license as well as experienced pilot abilities on MIG-29 aircraft. He accumulated 2500 flying hours in the following aircraft: TS-11; MIG-21; MIG-29 including over 1400 flying hours in F-16 aircraft. On 11 July 2018 Colonel Jatczak was appointed as the Commander of the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Łask and on 5th of July 2021 was appointed as the Deputy Commander of 2nd Tactical Air Wing in Poznań.
