Brigadier General Andrea SIMONE was born in Bolzano on March the 20th, 1973. He attended the 176th “CERTEZZA” course at the Military Academy of Modena and the Officers’ School in Turin from 1994 to 1999, receiving a master’s degree in Political Science, with a concentration on economics and politics. As Artillery Officer, with the rank of Lieutenant and Captain, he served in the 132nd “Ariete” Armoured Artillery Regiment in Maniago and the 52nd “Turin” Land Artillery Regiment in Vercelli, holding the positions of Section Commander, Deputy Battery Commander, Battery Commander and Operations Center Chief. In 2009, after attending the General Staff Course and the “Multi-Thematic” Course, he obtained a II level Master in Strategic Sciences at the University of TURIN. Upon completion of the training process, in 2012 he attended the Advanced Joint Staff Course in ROME, earning a I level master in International Strategic Military Studies. From 2009 to 2015 he was appointed as Staff Officer in the General Planning and Financial Division, at the Force Structure and Organization Office. He commanded the 1st Group “El Alamein” of the 132nd Armored Artillery Regiment “Ariete” from August 2015 to September 2016. Brigadier General Andrea SIMONE took part in the multinational operations in Kosovo as Section Commander and as S5 Cell Chief, in Bosnia as G4 Cell Staff Officer and as S4 Cell Chief and in Iraq as Chief Military Transition Team in the context of the Sector Security Reform Department. From October 2016 to September 2020 he was employed by the Italian Army General Staff – 3rd General Planning and Financial Division where he held the positions of Chief of the 4th Section of the Force Structure and Organization Office and, subsequently, Chief of the Concept Development Section of the Army Innovation Office. In October 2020/2021 he served as Commander of the Land Artillery Regiment “a cavallo”. From October 2021 to October 2025 he was the Chief of the Force Structure and Organisation Office in the General Planning Division of the Italian Army General Staff. Since November the 14th, 2025 he was appointed as Artillery Commander.
