8 for 8 by 8: Eight contenders for the UAE's $2 billion 8x8 tender

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is eyeing up a new generation of armoured vehicles with a contract for 600 8x8 wheeled combat vehicles in the pipeline.
Earlier this month Janes Defence Weekly reported that the UAE had issued an international request for proposal (RfP) for the new fleet, with an order that could total as much as $2 billion (£1.3 billion).
The UAE is expecting responses by next month, here’s a look at some of the vehicles in contention:
