Assistant Head of Strategic Concept Development in Futures and Force Design UK Ministry of Defence

Colonel Will Meddings OBE is a British Army officer currently leading the UK Ministry of Defence Strategic Concepts Team, where he is responsible for developing future warfare concepts and informing long-term defence policy, force design and military transformation. His previous appointments include Assistant Chief of Staff G5 (Plans) at the NATO Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff J5 (Africa) at Permanent Joint Headquarters, and Director CJ5 (Plans and Strategy) within the US Combined Joint Task Force in the Horn of Africa. He founded and later led the Centre for Army Leadership at Sandhurst, and has deployed extensively to Iraq, Afghanistan, and West and East Africa, including commanding the UK's Long Range Reconnaissance Group in the UN MINUSMA mission.
