Colonel Roman Bobal
Commander, Fires Centre of Excellence Armed Forces of the Slovak RepublicColonel Bobal began his military path in 1989 at the Military Grammar School in Prague and joined the Slovak Armed Forces on 1 September 1993. After graduating from the Military Academy in 1997, he served in artillery leadership roles, earning an MSc in 2001, completing the Artillery Captain Career Course at Fort Sill in 2009, and graduating from the NATO Defense College in 2025. He has commanded and led artillery units at battalion, national, and NATO levels, with deployments to Syria, Cyprus, and Afghanistan. Since August 2025, he has served as Commander of the Fires Center of Excellence.
